Supporters newsletter for The Log Cabin

The Log Cabin is an inclusive adventure playground for children with special needs and disabilities.  They previously sent out a newsletter to their supporters which was simply a Word document, but they wanted to have a colourful, bold design to inspire both the children and the children’s parents.

The newsletter design is actually a custom version of a template that is included with Pages on Mac OS X.  For this project, using InDesign just seemed to be over-complicating it because The Log Cabin were going to print it out on their own laser printer.  Plus, if they ever wanted to take on the production of the newsletter themslelves, it would be able to be turned into a Microsoft Word template relatively straight-forwardly.

They were incredibly happy with the design.  I also provided them with an Adobe PDF so that they were able to send it out via email where they had people’s email addresses.  It all helps save them money as they are a charitable, non-profit organisation.
